Connect Foot Health was not created to become the busiest podiatry practice in the community. It was created to become a meaningful one.

We believe that seeing fewer patients and spending more time with each person allows for better conversations, better education, and a more personal healthcare experience.

There are no crowded waiting rooms.

There is no rushing from exam room to exam room.

Instead, the focus is on the person in front of us.

Dr. Bartoszek

Dr. Jacob Bartoszek is the founder of Connect Foot Health. Known to many of his patients as “Dr. B,” he grew up on Long Island, NY with his parents, two sisters, and his grandfather, Stanley. Grandpa Stanley lived in a second-floor apartment above the family home, and Dr. B found himself upstairs with him nearly every evening after dinner. They spent countless hours talking, playing games, watching television, and enjoying each other’s company.

One of their favorites was Jeopardy! Dr. B always tried his hardest to beat Grandpa Stanley, but he was usually no match for his grandfather’s decades of accumulated knowledge. There were, however, a few suspicious victories that may or may not have involved discovering that Jeopardy! aired an hour earlier on Chicago’s WGN. We won’t dwell on that.

Those evenings left a lasting impression and planted the seeds for what would later become a passion for caring for older adults.

Dr. B eventually moved to Winter Springs, FL, where he attended high school before earning a B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from UCF. He also began dating his future wife as a sophomore in high school. They have been happily married since 2009 and now have two wonderful boys.

Dr. B earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2013 and completed a three-year surgical residency at Aventura Medical Center in Aventura, FL, in 2016. After residency, he began his career on a surgical path. While waiting for hospital credentials, however, Dr. B started caring for patients in skilled nursing facilities, and something clicked.

He rediscovered how meaningful it was to spend time with older adults and with people who are too often overlooked or forgotten. He realized that the most rewarding part of being a physician was not necessarily performing the most complex procedure, but connecting with people and using his skills to improve their lives. Those relationships helped inspire Connect Foot Health and its mission to bring compassionate care and practical education to people who may otherwise struggle to access either.

Dr. B now has more than 10 years of experience caring for patients in post-acute and long-term care settings, where he has developed an approach centered on gentle, compassionate treatment without compromising the quality of care.

A Different Approach to Healthcare

Modern healthcare often rewards seeing more patients in less time. My goal with this practice is the opposite: see a small number of patients, spend meaningful time with them, and provide care in an environment where they feel comfortable.

I also believe that every patient encounter is an opportunity to learn and teach. Podiatric problems are often visible, understandable, and highly educational when someone takes the time to explain what is happening. That led to the idea behind our Community Care Program: use real-world podiatric care to create useful public education and allow the educational content itself to help support care for people who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

It is an unconventional model. But at its core, the idea is very traditional:

Take care of people, teach what you know, and use your work to make a positive difference in your community.
